Starting this blog has been quite an adventure. My goal? To help electric vehicle drivers — and anyone still wondering whether to make the switch — feel confident about charging, range, and the realities of EV life.
Let’s talk about the big one: range anxiety. It sounds terrifying, but in truth? I’m on my second EV, and in hundreds of trips, I’ve only felt it once.
This space will be your go-to for honest advice, real experiences, and the occasional myth-busting. I’ll show you that using a rapid charger isn’t a drama, that charging won’t cost you a fortune, and that you can (gasp!) actually enjoy doing something else while your car tops up.

Now, let me introduce my trusty steed: a Peugeot Rifter EV. On paper, it’s not exactly a speed demon — with a range of just 200 miles, aerodynamics that rival a brick, and acceleration that could be outpaced by a truck with a flat tyre. But for me and my family, it’s perfect. The real selling point? A cavernous boot that comfortably swallows our gear and gives the dogs room to stretch out like they own the place.
Along the way, I’ll be putting different companies’ rapid chargers to the test, sharing the good, the bad, and the “are-you-serious-this-is-still-broken?” moments. I’ll talk about holidays and days out in the Rifter, charging at home (including the joys and dramas of getting a charger installed), and what it’s like to drive a car without a gearbox — bye-bye clutch pedal, I don’t miss you one bit. We’ll also get into the hidden perks of EV ownership: fewer moving parts means fewer things to break, servicing is blissfully minimal, and battery life is a lot better than the doom-and-gloom headlines would have you believe.
